At a recent webinar hosted by Energy Saving Trust as part of the Green Heat Installer Engagement Programme, Josh King, Chair of Solar Energy Scotland and Director of GenSource Ltd, delivered a powerful and myth-busting presentation on the real potential of solar energy in Scotland. Here are the highlights from his talk and why solar must be a bigger part of Scotland’s energy future.

A NEW trishaw storage facility for use by the local Cycling Without Age (CWA) group has been officially opened in Musselburgh. Councillor Shona McIntosh, ward member, joined members of Cycling Without Age Musselburgh at the launch at the Fisherrow Centre. The new trishaw storage facility has been supported and built by local renewable energy specialist Gensource. It will enable the trishaws to continue to offer a service to the people of Musselburgh and surrounding area.

Musselburgh-based solar energy company Gensource has won a major Scottish Energy Efficiency Awards for design and build projects for clients who include the National Manufacturing Institute of Scotland (NMIS), The David Livingstone Trust and Eastern Western Motor Group (EWMG).  The award also recognises Gensource’s work on community and domestic projects, working with clients from Orkney to East Lothian on solar installations of all sizes. The firm was additionally highly commended in the Large-Scale Project category for its work with EWMG.

Musselburgh-based solar energy company Gensource have been nominated as finalists for the ‘High Growth Business of the Year’ category of the latest Midlothian and East Lothian Chamber of Commerce (MELCC) Awards.

Sustainable energy company Gensource, based in Musselburgh, has been commissioned by Portobello community organisation Porty Community Energy to deliver a technical feasibility and system design for six sites for community-owned renewable energy systems across Portobello and the surrounding area.
