Solar Energy UK has formed several ‘steering groups’ seeking member collaboration on key areas to drive lobbying efforts, promote regulatory improvements, and increase industry standards. With access to the grid now being the single biggest barrier to renewable energy deployment, Robert Wilson, Commercial Director of Gensource, joins the newly formed steering group to tackle this issue.
The ability to connect to the electricity network is currently the single biggest barrier to solar and storage projects at every scale in Scotland and across the UK. Those in the industry may be aware of the various efforts on all fronts to tackle these issues, such as Ofgem’s announcement on connection reform, or Octopus Energy’s action plan.
The Gensource team firmly believe that solar will play an integral part of our future energy mix and that solar and storage can be grid enablers. We are proud to be supporting the industry on multiple fronts.
In addition to Commercial Director, Robert’s, membership of the SEUK Grid Steering group, Managing Director Josh King is also supporting the recently formed Scottish Solar Grid forum, in his capacity as vice-chair of Solar Energy Scotland.

These efforts to support industry also enable Gensource to stay at the forefront of the extremely fast paced landscape for solar, and renewables more widely. This allows us to support our customers and partners in making better informed decisions on their sustainable energy projects.
